Le Versoyen is a slightly dated campsite with a large hard-standing for motorhomes in the skiing season. The two facilities blocks are dated but clean and more importantly warm especially the showers. The first block has a television room above it and a drying room for ski gear. There are electric hook-ups for use on the hard-standing which is reserved for motorhomes. The Campsite cost under €20 per night (2009).The reception staff are very helpful and speak english. The site is easy to get to and is basically flat. About two hundred metres away is a large Super U where you can buy everything you need and more including autogas to refill Gaslow cylinders etc! "Le Versoyen" camp site also allows motorhomes to empty toilets and grey water & refill with fresh water for a couple of euros (€3 in January 08)

Access to the ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne is via the funiculaire which runs out of Bourg St Maurice. You have two options to get there, either by a pleasant 15 minute walk through the woods and by the lake or to catch the ski-bus from the site entrance. There is a ski room by the funiculaire where you can leave your skis and boots all week which is run by an english family. You can also hire equipment here. The campsite sells a six day non consecutive lift pass for Les Arcs also reduced one day for St Foy and La Plagne. the six day pass also allows you to have a cheap day for La Rosiere/La Thuile Cost (€23) and with the pass being non consecutive you can slot it in when you like. More details on the skiing which is excellent for everyone can be found on the Les Arcs website.

Bourg St Maurice is a proper french town with a large array of shops and restaurants. I can recommend the chinese buffet from the only chinese restaurant which is served daily and is of very good value. Some of the savoyard restaurants are excellent and I can recommend trying a bottle of Abyme or Apremont which are both local wines.

There is also a campsite in Landry which is part of the Les Arcs ski area called the Eden. It is an excellent site - the ski bus collects you from out site the campsite to take you either to Peisey Vallandry or to Bourg st Maurice. The train station is only a 5 minute walk from the campsite - 10 minute walk into the village of Landry.
