Aire/Campsite Details:

Les Deux Alpes - Aire Overnight parking in coach car park on the left before bridge before entering the main village. Normally 7 euros a night although we stayed for free in February 2010 on a Sunday night. There appears to be new water facilities and electric hook-up, €12 a night and checked daily. Easy access to ski runs and lift pass office below car park providing door to door skiing to your motorhome. Very good Public toilet facilities are at the entrance of the car park which are used for water and grey & black waste. I would recommend arriving with a full water tank.

Resort Details :

The resort itself is quite large and spread out, meaning it lacks that "village like" alpine charm. However, it does have a very good range of shops and restaurants, plus varied and lively nightlife. There's a regular free navette from car park until about 7pm. For non skiers, the hamlet of Venosc with its craft shops and cute eateries is walkable when there's not too much snow, or can be reached by cable car.

Skiing Details:

Les Deux Alpes is among Europe's highest ski resorts. The resort lies along the centre of its valley, with immediate access to the slopes in all directions. Most of the skiing and the snow sure glacier is on the eastern side of Les Deux Alpes and is reached by the Jandri Express gondola, the western side of the resort climbs to Pied Moutet at 2100m. It boasts the largest glacier in Europe (at 3568m) allowing for year round skiing. . Beginners and intermediates are well catered for with some nice motorway pistes, although there is only one easy run back down to resort which is sometimes shut when snow is thin on the ground. If you work out the route you can ski back to the car park.
