Resort details:

This relatively unknown (to the British) ski town has seen a lot of growth over the last few years. several very good restaurants and a couple of lively bars, all with the charm and friendliness of the Italian Aosta valley. The old part of town is small but perfectly formed with winding cobbled pathways leading you up the south-facing slope of the valley.

Skiing details:

Acting as a frontier between Italy and Switzerland, the peaks surrounding this ski resort have the greatest average height of any resort in Europe and include Punta Dufour, the second highest peak in Europe at 4634m. Enthusiasts come from all over the world for the off-piste which increases the 180km of pisted runs by a huge amount. On piste, the three deep valleys that make up the area give you huge, empty, wide runs that seem to go on forever.
